Gimme a break

There are projects finished that need blocking, but I'd rather not. Ever feel that way? Like it was a struggle to get yourself to finish the thing, and now it just needs to be put away, out of sight, until you randomly happen upon it at a later date. Maybe that time apart allows the negative feelings to flit away, leaving room for you to fall in love with it all over again; and all you have to do at that point is block and wear it.

I feel that way. A lot. And maybe about yarn things in general. So, a little break. A week, or maybe a month, perhaps. I've been dealing with some hand issues, so giving myself time to deal and heal is good. Some of that dealing and healing has already begun, which involved making myself get out and away from the house.

Goats from Franklin, NC

A while ago I spent time with some new friends, and part of that took place at the Fiber Feel Day in Asheville. It's a pretty small event, just a few hours of a single afternoon, and this was the second time I ventured out to attend. This year was a bit smaller, but the pygora goats I favored last year were back in attendance. I mean, really, look at the beauty above! And the twins below.

I had a good time hanging out, petting goats, feeling local fibers, yet somehow sticking to my 'no-buy' goal. It was difficult, but a total success. Yes, I'm self-congratulating. Now look at these gorgeous creatures...
